If intralesional injections are performed multiple times to multiple lesions, are CPT codes 11900 and 11901 reported more than once?
Answer:
No. CPT codes 11900 (Intralesional injection up to and including 7 lesions) and 11901 (Intralesional injection more than 7 lesions) are reported by the number of lesions treated, not the number of injections per lesion. So, if four lesions are injected, CPT code 11900 is reported, regardless of the number of times each lesion is injected.
